I love using Dry Sparkling's sodas in my cocktail recipes. They're pretty subtle tasting and never too sweet, and I find they work especially well with fresh ingredients. This recipe uses the Dry Rhubarb, along with fresh peppermint and gin. Super simple and refreshing for a hot summer day. I build this cocktail in the glass, similar to a mint julep, because I don't want to lose any of the peppermint oils after crushing.
This is my first attempt at making flavored meringues, but they turned out quite well! They were surprisingly easy (although time consuming.) I used very fresh eggs -like from this morning- and I think it may have actually made the whisking more difficult. I hand-whisked mine but you can, and probably should, use a stand mixer. I made two batches, one with just vanilla and one rose flavored. Follow the instructions separately for each batch.
This riff on a Bloody Mary is packed full of garden vegetables and tastes super bright and fresh. Feel free to get a little crazy with the garnishes (pickles, bacon, celery, olives, cocktail onions, etc.) The glass pictured can be purchased HERE
A flip is traditionally a drink containing an egg, spirit, spice, and sugar. The egg is intended to impart texture instead of flavor. It serves to make the drink super frothy and light. This flip uses gin as its base spirit and layers tiki flavors on top.
I just began experimenting with making our own bitters at Glass Goat, including the coffee bitters here. I used my favorite coffee beans, the Hayes Valley Espresso roast from Blue Bottle Coffee in Oakland, California. I'm about halfway through the process with these right now, so I thought I'd share how it's going so far.
I used instructions from the kitchn and tweaked them a little to make my bitters. I also have lavender, juniper, and orange and clov...
This take on the Bee's Knees cocktail has a stronger honey presence than the classic. Our River Road Farm honey is really mild; it's delicate enough that it won't overpower the other flavors in the drink. The goat rocks glass pictured can be purchased here.
